1. Where does the "Current Conditions" come from? What exactly is Wave Period, Height, and Direction?

All of our data is currently retrieved on an hourly basis by CDIP buoy's (specifically the La Jolla Outer Buoy - Station 100). To figure out what each of the measurements mean go their site.


2. What’s an Expression Session?

An Expression Session is a collection of photos from a given surf session posted on our website by one of our Insider photographers. The time and place are random. SurfShot.com's reporters and SurfShot Insiders will photograph surfers at random, and, later, the best photos will be uploaded to our site.


3. Where and when is the next Expression Session being held?

Expression Sessions are mostly shot at random. But you can book a session with one of our Insider photographers.


4. What is the Photo Gallery?

The Photo Gallery is a collection of the best Surf Report Archives, Expresssion Sessions, and User Galleries we have on our server. We have over half a million surfing pictures archived on our server, and you can browse all them if you are a member. It is a FREE section, so every user can see the pictures.


5. What is the User Gallery?

SurfShot's User Galleries are accessible to every user on our site. Here, users can upload photos of themselves and their friends, surfing or at surf-related events. To post photos on SurfShot.com you must have an active account. Don't have one? Sign up today, it's free!
